Project Background

The customer is a farmer who mainly grows marijuana. The local water source TDS value is 200ppm, and the recommended irrigation water TDS limit for marijuana cultivation is 500ppm. When the customer watered the marijuana for fertilizer, the water salt control TDS value is 500ppm, which limits the amount of fertilizer applied to a certain extent, and affects the yield and quality of marijuana.

After a professional evaluation, we designed a complete solar powered reverse osmosis water treatment system for the farm.

System Configuration

Our current water treatment equipment first removes the salts from the irrigation water through reverse osmosis, and reduces the TDS value of the irrigation water to less than 10ppm, so that the client can greatly increase the amount of fertilizer applied when watering the marijuana for fertilizer.

In addition, the customer tends to use solar power to generate electricity, not directly use industrial electricity, so this equipment is considered to choose solar power supply pumps.

1. Significantly increase the utilization rate of fertilizer

By reducing the TDS of the irrigation water from 200 ppm to less than 10 ppm, the system frees up 490 ppm of space for fertilizer addition, increasing fertilizer utilization by 62%. Growers can precisely control the amount of nutrients each crop receives. This precision agriculture technology is particularly well suited for medical marijuana cultivation, where stability of active ingredient content is critical.

2. Optimizing operating costs

The solar power system brings significant energy savings to the farm. Even in cloudy weather, 80% of the power capacity is guaranteed. The energy storage system is designed to meet the demand of 3 consecutive days of rainy weather, completely eliminating the dependence on an unstable power grid.
