DESCRIPTION |
Cation Water Softener Resin is a strong acid cation exchange resin specifically designed for removing hardness ions (calcium and magnesium) from water. These resins typically feature a polystyrene-divinylbenzene matrix with sulfonic acid functional groups and operate in the sodium (Na⁺) form, exchanging sodium ions for hardness ions to prevent scale formation.
Residential Water Softening: Used in household water softeners to protect plumbing, appliances, and improve water quality.
Commercial Water Treatment: Installed in restaurants, hotels, laundries, and other commercial establishments to prevent scale buildup.
Industrial Boiler Feedwater: Protects boilers and heat exchangers from scale formation in industrial facilities.
Pre-treatment for RO Systems: Used as pre-treatment to protect reverse osmosis membranes from scaling.
Process Water Treatment: Provides softened water for various industrial manufacturing processes.

4. Performance Indicators
Operating Capacity: 1.8 - 2.0 eq/L
Hardness Leakage: <1 mg/L as CaCO₃
Pressure Drop: <1.5 bar/m bed height
5. Important Considerations
Iron Fouling: Avoid exposure to iron concentrations >0.3 mg/L
Chlorine Attack: Free chlorine should be <0.1 mg/L
Suspended Solids: Pre-filtration recommended for turbidity >1 NTU
Temperature Protection: Avoid freezing and excessive temperature
ADVANTAGES |

High Exchange Capacity: Typically offers ≥2.0 eq/L capacity, ensuring efficient hardness removal and long service cycles.
Excellent Physical Durability: High resistance to mechanical attrition and osmotic shock during operation and regeneration.
Rapid Exchange Kinetics: Fast reaction rates allow for efficient operation at various flow rates.
